Small goals lead to bigger achievements. Case in point, a butt like that.

Squat ladies squat.... It's all about that bass, no treble. Ah hell no, the treble can go with it too mama you should know.

Ok in all seriousness, small goals lead to bigger achievements, case in point, a butt like that or the hashtag #datasstho. How it can be achieved one exercise at a time.

I have never been too fond of my backside, it just didn't sit pretty with me, no pun intended. It was fairly small as I have tight hips, and I wasn't into the curve action if I were to put some effort into them. I rode a bike as well as walked heaps last year living in the Philippines so I wasn't able to keep the muscle though I had the strength. Not to mention, my hips were going through some serious internal and external rotations. Also, it's never fun to have scars on your bum which I do. Because I rode my bike so much in the Philippines, I didn't have proper padding so it looks like I double cheek each cheek.... sexy.

Riding a bike all around town with 20 lbs + back pack in humidity, rain or shine 5 times a week keeps you fit! But depending on your body type, it may not work in places you might need work on. It's a struggle to pin point what it is we want to target, it's not easy for everyone. At the beginning of this year I started noticing some changes in my body, slightly more curvier then usual. Maybe I'm just lying to myself and it really was all the holiday and accessible deliciousness I came home to from being in the Philippines for nearly a year. However, the curves on my body were in the hips and I did notice some little bumps on the thighs, every woman's nightmare. But I also saw such an increase in my flexibility, I thought to myself, 'oh boy I have to figure out what to do to sort out these side lining sitters to tone up. I told myself, time to put in some work in that back side. I didn't take before and after photos, I just noticed based on the lift, photos, the soreness, the pants not fitting like usual and having junk to twerk, it takes a little junk in the trunk to twerk. I just noticed all sorts of weirdness going on on the body that I was learning to adapt to.

So the past 6-8 months I experimented with using the fitness ball, lunges, squat challenged myself the month of July and really took hold of that voice that said, 'do it girl, build that booty to your liking'. It takes some dedication and if you're a person like me, I don't go into beast mode like many fitness junkies or even yoga junkies for that matter. My cardio this year is probably only at 30% compared to last years amount, but I added more strength training and methodology into my programs this year while allowing the body shift up and down to find a good fit. I don't have a set regimen I do but I'm consistent with methods which I think is a great mind f*7) to the body. That's where the beauty lies within, being a little created and flowing with the body.
The list goes as follows:
* JOGA - Yoga for Jocks. Kicks your ass. I'm a certified Joga teacher and that helps with the lift and legs. Strength training and conditioning for the athletic yogis.
* Squat Challenge - My challenge started July 8th at 30 squats. Each day I added 10 more daily until the end of the month. Combining with skater lunges, side kicks, to keep my mind focused on the goal though a few times I almost just didn't do the daily grind. It could be 3 am after work, I'm tired, my feet are sore, I don't want to do squats and lunges. But I got up, I stood up, half dressed, fully dressed, half asleep and I did the number I was set to do.
* The Ball Method - Using that fitness ball with targeting core stabilization and stability. I used the ball to pike alot! I used it for lunges, 2 x 3 times a week.
* Yoga - I took a step back with being super bendy and focused slightly more on strength. Because I was liking the curves I was seeing, I accepted the conditioning rather then stretching. Athletes need muscle and I needed some muscle. But the yoga kept it balanced on both ends using more muscle coordination in yoga postures.
* Dead lifts - Dead lifts work people, be mindful of your form.
* Mix it up - The only set, Psyche your body out by mixing it up, slowing it down, speeding up, etc.

Manifesting Generator - What exactly?

A friend of mine and I talk a lot about spiritual awareness, frequencies, self-study, evaluation, personalities, astrology, etc. Our conversations are often colorful and informative of constant discovery and manifestations. We like to share ideas or experiences that have helped us evolve on a day to day basis, guiding us to further examine who we are and what are here for along with our intuition. Well, a few months ago a friend has asked me if I ever heard of the Human Design. I said I haven't. That friend then went on to tell me about his coming to know of the human design by way of his work in videography. He cut footage for a guy by the name of Chetan Parkyn and he was given a free reading of his 'human design.' He also went on to say it's a practical application that carries an immense potential for betterment and fulfillment of the life for each individual knowing their blue print in this life cycle. Ok I wanted to divulge into this more.

I googled the human design and gave my vital stats over for a review. Result are in, I was born a highly complexed individual with qualities leading to so many contradictories a person like me can identify with amongst earthlings. I am so very blessed and cursed at the same time to be me, I am very much content with my life and the way I lead it, yet questioning everything around me, why me? why not me? why? By reviewing some of the results, a lot of the Human Design did indeed resonate well with me, in fact dead on. Instantly I reflected on everything else I learn of myself and how I handle situations, why do I feel blessed and cursed simultaneously, why can't some people understand me, why am I misconstrued, etc.... Again it goes back to 'WHY?' So many thoughts run through my head and I do feel I'm relatively simple in my way of life yet so many misinterpretations happen. It's interesting to read up on the human design and I will do my best to enlighten those who read this blog entry in hopes that it will enable to spark your interest in doing the same thing to understand yourself. Not to mention I'm a Chinese Zodiac Dog and INTJ in the MBTI. It's all fascinating.

So I came up as a 3/5 Manifesting Generator and my theme is frustration, In life I will go through constant trials and tribulations bumping into other people who are a projector, generator, manifestor, manifesting generator, and reflector. I'm no professional by any means or even well versed in the subject, in fact I really just study generators and manifesting generators to understand myself to know that I am normal in my own skin. Lot's of self study huh? Some probably think, why so much? Well, why not? This incorporates the way we were brought up, our surroundings, the influences we surround ourselves with, our own reflections, the fundamentals can go on and on. But there is always a foundation, just like building a house, it starts with a foundation to build on.

Going back to my chart, 3/5 Manifesting Generator, it means I'm a mix of both types in one type, allow me to explain. Better yet, I'll just pull up some references from the internet to make it easier for you to get.

3/5 Profile - Someone with a  3-5 profile in Human Design is driven to take the results of their experiences and use those to project change and what they see as the Truth to the rest of the world.  In Human Design the 3rd line is called the Martyr and the 5th line is called the Heretic. What follows explains why this profile carries such heavy names.
The 3rd line profile is driven to experiment with certain things or put themselves in situations so they can have an experience from which they extract truths. This process has an inward or self focus.  As they go through it they are constantly internalizing what is revealed and how this impacts them.  After synthesizing the impact, they then share the results with world or at least their local community. Because society judges some experiments as failures the 3rd line carries the moniker of Martyr.

The 5th line kicks in to share the results of these experiments/experiences in a projected way. In a broadcast like a movie projector, they not only say “Here is what I learned”, but also add, “This is how you should change your behavior or yourself to benefit from the Truth I have discovered.” The 5th line is driven to create this change, often geared toward changing the behavior of others. This projection also carries an absoluteness to it, as in “I know this is right.”  However since this energy is projected, it needs to be invited. People don’t want change unless they are ready for it. If the prognostications of the 5th line are not invited then the 5th line person can feel the oppression of rejection or the insult of being ignored. This is why the 5th line carries the moniker of the Heretic.

The 3-5 profile can be one of the more difficult profiles to feel at harmony with the rest of humanity. Between the projection not always being invited and the experiments being judged, the 3-5 person can feel pressure from the world to withdraw to get out of the heat. Yet the 5th line is determined to make change and will push the 3-5 out there again, to project the way.

Manifesting Generator - Manifesting Generator is a category of Generator. They get encouraged from an early age to use their manifesting power to make things happen. However their real power emerges from waiting and going with the flow. They have to learn to trust that their life unfolds with satisfaction when they don’t push the river. If they first engage their energy (or not) out of response, then they can move with a ‘go for it’ speed and they won’t suffer frustrating anger.

Growing up I have been impulsive to some degree and then realizing after maybe it wasn't the best decision at times. Some people are just born to make quick decisions with absolutely no repercussions and I would say to myself, 'How does that person get to go through life without pit falls? How do they deal with it? Why them?' Again, the why. But as I have gotten older and practiced yoga for a few years now I have come to learn and ACCEPT that everything I felt as a child up until this very day, I was born to deal with. I have said to myself many times over as I've talked myself through certain aspects of life where I felt so lost and confused, that I accept suffering. I have always accepted the suffering, not as a victim but to learn to understand it to test my character. So it's fascinating to know that my human design is Martyr/Heretic in the 3/5 profile. The 3rd line is a Martyr and the 5th is Heretic. Again to better understand this without confusion from myself, I'll instill a link to a verbal explanation from a site that I have listened to a few times and felt, 'Yep I see this in my life' or, "Yes, I have felt this."

If you feel the need to discover yourself a little more or are just curious of your human design, just google it and type in your information to get results. It's fascinating what you learn to accept what you may or may not already know.
